Bodega Bay, CA
We spent 12 hours on my friend's catamaran before we pulled a 36", 35-pound king salmon.
This was probably one of the most memorable fishing trips I've been on - we also saw porpoises, lion's mane jellyfish, and a sunfish.
Bodega Bay close to where I live and I spent most of the summer there. If you ever get the chance to visit, check out some of the beaches. The cliffs are gorgeous.

Gunnison & Taylor Rivers, CO
My first fly-fishing trip as well as the first time I caught a fish. Caught a tiny little rainbow on a blue poison tung at the confluence of the Gunnison & Taylor rivers.
I also got a strike from one of the Kokanee salmon that were running from the Roaring Judy hatchery on a dry fly, but I couldn't set the hook.

Blue River, CO
We were a ways before the dam in Silverthorne here. I caught 3 rainbows - one of which jumped nearly a foot out of the water.
The guys with me were also catching browns.

Unity Lake, OR
Unity Lake is way out in the middle of nowhere toward the border of Oregon and Idaho. No fly fishing here, just sitting on the shore for a few hours and watching some pronghorn with my grandfather.
We caught an 18-inch and 15-inch trout on powerbait.
